Automations is Skio’s original system for setting up simple event-based workflows like sending emails or applying tags when a subscription renews, skips, or cancels. It helps you automate basic actions tied to key subscription events.
Why don’t I see the Automations tab in my dashboard anymore?
Automations has now been deprecated. If you’re still using it, you’ll be asked to migrate to Journeys, which offers more flexibility, control, and advanced workflow options.
Why do I need to migrate from Automations to Journeys?
Journeys is the new, more advanced version of Automations. It adds a drag-and-drop builder, more triggers and actions across the subscription lifecycle, deeper integrations with tools like Klaviyo, and better visibility into workflow performance.
With Journeys, you can swap trial products for full versions, apply discounts at specific milestones, adjust shipping intervals, or trigger custom banners in the Customer Portal. You can learn more in our Journeys help doc here.
All future improvements will be built in Journeys, so we recommend migrating as soon as possible to take advantage of the added flexibility and control. This is a quick, one-time upgrade process that transfers your workflows to the new Journeys system.
What happens during migration?
When you migrate to Journeys:
- All Automations are copied into Journeys.
- The corresponding Journeys are carried over in the same state they had in Automations (either enabled or disabled).
The process typically takes under 20 seconds, so active subscriptions shouldn’t miss any events.
How do I migrate to Journeys?
- In your Skio dashboard, go to Features > Automations in the lefthand menu bar.
- Click Migrate to Journeys at the top of the page.
- Confirm the migration when prompted. Skio will handle the rest automatically.
- Once the migration is complete, all of your Automations will be disabled, and you won’t be able to create new ones.
